John Baldasare

John Baldasare is currently the Director of Programming Content Strategy and Co-Productions at BET Networks where he is identifies opportunities for programming acquisitions, crafts cost-efficient Indie and Original Movie deals, and co-produces BETN’s Original Movies – from inception to completion.  John is responsible for identifying the best concepts for greenlight, script development, script notes, edit notes, casting, and delivery of all materials.  Since 2018, John has produced one limited-series (Carl Weber’s Black Hamptons), one series (Carl Weber’s The Family Business, which is BET’s longest running non-Tyler Perry scripted series) and over 40 Original Movies spanning genres such as Christmas/Holiday, Suspense/Thriller, Action/Crime, Biopics, Romcom, Book-to-Screen, Dramas, and Faith.

 

John has been in the Entertainment Industry since 1999, having worked for a variety of platforms, such as VH1, Logo, CMT, WE tv, BET, BET Her, and BET+.  John holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.
